Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are a Major League Baseball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their most common nicknames include: The Phils, The Fightin' Phils or simply, The Phightin's. Although the Phillies are currently the only major league baseball franchise operating in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Athletics (now the Oakland Athletics) were once the club's crosstown rivals in the first half of the 20th century (1901-1954). Since the divisional realignment of 1969, the Phillies have played in the Eastern Division of the National League. They are the oldest continuous one-name, one-city franchise in all of American professional sports (although the team has used alternate nicknames throughout its history). The Phillies at one time held the record for the longest World Series championship drought in baseball history at 97 years (1883-1980). This unfortunate record was broken by the Chicago Cubs (1908-present) in 2005. Still, the Phillies have the mark as one of the most exciting franchises of any US major sports league. This club has had its fair share of talent, and currently claims 31 Hall of Famers. Full Article on Wikipedia

Jarad Wright is once again with his mentor Leo Mazzone in Baltimore as the Yankees today traded the right handed disappointment for right handed reliever Chris Britton. The Yanks also send $4 Million to the Birds in the deal. Wright who seldom made it out of the 6th inning last season for the Yankees will be trying his luck in Baltimore.

DON'T TAKE THE WORLD SERIOUS

With the World Series tied at a game a piece and all the sports shows trying to hang Kenny Rogers, one has to think what would have, could have, only if. . .

Cory Lidle 3/22/72 - 10/11/06

Cory Fulton Lidle...Cory was neither a superstar or a hero. He was not the Captain nor an everyday Player. Lidle won't get a day or a retired number or a place in Cooperstown. But playing on 7 teams in 9 years he had a place in many players hearts. He married Melanie Varela (1/7/97) and had one son, Christopher Taylor (9/18/00) that he left behind. Baseball lost a player but life has lost a man. He won't be remembered as a Yankee, maybe not even a Phillie. He won't get more than the moment of silence next opening day and Old Timers. Cory Lidle will not be forgotten.

Screen Server...A Must for any Cowboy Fan

Just downloaded the Dallas Cowboys Screen Server off of www.dallascowboys.com . This is great screen saver with lots of information right there at the click of the mouse. Pictures of players(and cheerleaders) flash by while headlines, scores, standing, and other Cowboy information is accesible on the bottom. Anyway, it's the best Cowboy screen saver I have seen, but you may have a different opinion. Let me know what you think about it.

Who is the Greatest Cowboy Ever?

With over forty-five years of franchise history and so many great memories, it seems only proper to take nominations for the "Greatest Cowboy of all Time" award. As difficult as it may be, tell us who you want to nominate and why.
