San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. They play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Spurs are the only former American Basketball Association team to have won an NBA championship, which they have done three times. As of November 2006, the Spurs rank second of active franchises for highest winning percentage in NBA history (behind the Los Angeles Lakers). The Spurs passed the Boston Celtics (the first franchise to do so with a statistically significant number of games played since March 30, 1988) with a win over the Miami Heat on November 22, 2006.
